The Olympic Flame has been snuffed to darkness, the athletes all gone home to rest their weary bones. But just because the Games is over for another 4 years doesn’t mean the fashion world has or will forget about sportswear as something more than functional. There’s plenty of time to indulge in fanciful contrasts of shorts and heels, sequins and sweatshirts.
Photographer Carola Doornbos brings us one example. Titled Just Do It, it’s got a kind of rawness to it that’s backed by the cold loftiness of gymnasium ceilings and yet softened by the beautifully winged out eyeliner by makeup artist Pascale Hoogstraate.
